1999-2003 QUESTIONS
Does the Sat Full Mtn Pass include the dinner and breakfast ?
No, just a regular all day lift ticket. They would also need to pay the "non skiier/season pass" for the
ski-o-ree if they plan on eating or staying overnight. (not avail 2005)
Can they switch rentals from Friday to Saturday, so if they rent a snowboard
on Friday can they change to skis on Saturday?
They ARE NOT ASSURED But have been able to switch from snow board to skies or vice-versa for Sat. Snowboards may need to be returned on friday night. Skis may be kept overnight. The scouts will need to ask to keep their shoes so they can wear something inside or bring another pair.
Any way to get the lift tickets for Saturday early so they can be first on
the slopes on Saturday morning? (yes for 2005 you will have sat tickets Fri night)
Last year i ws able to have the passes at the A-Frame to be handed out without having to go to the ticket window. This year should be the same. If this is not the case I will inform you Friday.
Can the rental included in the ski-o-ree scout package be skis, snowboards or
skiboards?
The scout package includes skis and/or snowboards.
Skiboards cost an additional rental fee per day.
In the past there have been some time concerns on Friday night with tickets. Is there anything in the plans to help with this?
YES!! Last year we had some problems with tickets and printing. This year I am attempting to make arrangements to have GP staff on hand to take care of the tickets so I and the other committee members of my troop can handle the payments.
The dinner was great last year however it seemed that there were a few working very hard to keep things moving. We appreciate all this work but how can we help lighten the load this year?
This question and topic was discussed at our committee meeting and it was decided that no troop that is a guest of the event should have to work. Since this is a fundraiser for our troop It was decided that most if not all the parents of the scouts needed to be involved at least on Friday night. Being we are having another ski-o-ree this year means that the parents did agree to be there to help.
2004 was a great year!! For 2005 we are moving the event to the second week in march so it does not conflict with the Odyssey of The Mind regional compitition. Also refunds are discussed on the registration page. Last year we had quite a few no-shows and many refunds went out. This was time consuming and difficult and we hope that everyone recieved thiers if due.
Prices went up a small amount only to cover inflated food and skiing costs and also the expectation of a little more to offer on Sat Breakfast.
2004- CAN A SCOUT DO THE ENTIRE SNOW SPORTS BADGE AT THE SKIOREE?
Yes and NO. In the past we have offered both the indoor and outdoor sections of the merit badge. After reflection of this it has been decided that any requirement which states discuss, explain, or write should be done in writing and will be checked during a new time friday night. The on snow section will be held as usual by meeting at 12:00 at the designated area.
Can siblings and family attend?
Yes!! new for 2003 this event was open for family and friends. It is up to the Scout Troop which is hosting these guests to have emergency contact and information on hand in the event of an emergency.
Can Webloes attend this event?
YES! I encourage the participation of Webloes during this event. This is a great opportunity to work with the Boy Scout Troops which they soon will be joining.
How Much extra $$ should the scouts bring?
The troops are responsible for supplying or arranging for lunch. If they are planning on buying lunch, a good lunch from the cafeteria costs in the range of $8-$15 depending on what they want.
